Meet your therapist McKenzie

Born and raised here in Washington, I enjoy all things nature! You are likely to find me by the water or in the mountains if I am not in the office. I am a proud bird mom to a 10-year old parakeet, Stormy.

I graduated from Western Washington University in 2018 with my Bachelor’s in Psychology and from Adams State University in 2022 with my Master’s in Counseling. Being a student and therapist during the COVID-19 pandemic shaped how I approach my practice, relationships, and overall life.

My primary modality is Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) which is a framework that normalizes and empathizes with all the Parts of ourselves. I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, with a particular focus on chronic-illness.

I enjoy working with kids, teens, and early adults using play and art therapies alongside traditional talk therapy. Getting creative both inside and out of the therapy room helps connect with all our Parts and can loosen things that have felt stuck. I also take a strengths based and social-justice perspective with everyone I meet.
